Digitizing Tips:
Create a digitizing plan:
Decide which shapes to trace first – look at the image and think of it as layers. Trace the layers in back first. Trace the shapes that should stitch first and leave the details for last.
Here are some suggestions for this image:
- trace the green leaf first
- trace the brown stem
- trace the orange pumpkin as an applique
- trace the eyes, nose and mouth
- trace the text – Halloween to finish the design
Determine the stitch tools for each shape:
Consider what stitch to use for tracing each shape. Here are some suggestions for this image:
- green leaf- fill stitch tool
- stem- satin
- pumpkin – applique tool
- eyes, nose, mouth – fill
- Halloween text – text tool
